This is what you will be making

Cards Using a Label

You will need

The label template

Some medium strength card in a colour of your choice

Pieces of pattern paper or coloured foil

Stick-on words of your choice or cut some out of your old cards

Double sided tape or adhesive

Card blanks of your choice

Lot's of imagination

My label pattern here.

Copy them to your computer and print onto stiff cardboard to use as templates for the labels.

Draw around the template and cut out the shape that you want to use. You can use the side without the pencil marks or go around the edge of the label to make it more pronounced.

Add whatever text or pictures you want to the label.

Carefully cut out the hole of the label and add ribbon, string or whatever you like to make it look like a tie. I have seen some lovely raffia hanging in our greenhouse but keep forgetting to 'borrow' it.

That is the label finished now to make the pockets for it to fit into.

Card 1-Cut out a piece of cardboard about an inch wider than the label at it's narrowest

You can cover the front of the cardboard in anything you wish-the choice is yours.

When you are happy with it stick it to your card blank with double sided tape. Make sure that the tape is at the edges of the shape and leave the top unstuck for the label to fit into it.

Decorate the pocket as you wish.

Card 2- Cut a strip of patterned paper the length of the card blank and just under half of the width.

Stick this to the front of the card. I always use double sided tape but a good craft adhesive would be ok.

Now stick some small, very thick cardboard squares to the back of you label. When they are dry stick the label to the blank card as in my card.

Card 3 -Cut a strip of light weight card double the length that you want the flap to be when you fix it onto the finished card and about twice as wide as the label you are using.. Fold this in half. Then fix it onto your card blank

Cut out a piece of patterned paper to fit on the front of this 'flap'. I used  pinking shears to make the edge fancy

Fold the top left diagonally as in my card. Stick this on three sides to the flap so that it makes a pocket for the label. You can lift up the flap and write a message inside

Pop the label into the patterned pocket.

I hope these ideas have given you some ideas of you own and that you enjoyed making the cards.
