Flickering Candles Tut
This tutorial was written in PSP 10 but should be almost the same in
other PSP versions
You will need my tube
here or one of
your own that has candles on it with a flame
A gradient to match your tube
Another gradient to make a contrasting frame.
In your material palette-foreground box-go to gradient and add a
gradient to match your tube.
Working on your tube-add a new raster layer and flood fill with the
gradient.
Layers- arrange-send to bottom
Now change your gradient to another one that matches and style
4-angle 121 repeats 24.
Image-add border-size 20-colour white.
Click on this with your magic wand and then flood fill with the
gradient-add an inner bevel of your choice -I used the groove
preset.
Select none
Add a new layer for any text. Make sure that any text is away from
the candles flame
Add a new layer
Add any other decoration at this stage. I used simple bows for the
top two corners but bells or stars would look nice
Layers -merge visible and then resize as you wish
When you are happy duplicate the tag
Now with your selection tool-setting-rectangle-make a selection around one
of the flames on one of the tags
Effects-distortion effects-pinch-strength 100 -select none.
On the other tag do the same thing with the other flame.
Open animation shop and copy and paste one of the tags as a new
animation
Then copy the other tag and paste after the current frame
Test the animation. The speed may need to be adjusted. Select a
frame- right click on the frame-go to frame properties and alter the
number until you are happy. I have mine set at 20. You can have a
different frame time on the other frame if you.
That's it done save as a gif.
Hope you enjoyed the tutorial
