How to make a little book from playing cards

I bought these cards by mistake thinking they were the size for ATC cards.

This is how I turned them into a little book and I think they would make a nice little gift with a birthday card if you did the pages like a scrapbook for the person's birthday

This is what you will need-some playing cards-a piece of flexible material -the one I used was a bit velvety but leather cloth would be nice. Some scraps of backing paper the size of the playing cards and ribbon or a toggle to fasten the book together depending on how many pages you want to add

Cut some strips of the material just less than the width of the playing cards and long enough to be able to fold in half, stick to each card and leave enough to punch some holes in.

Fold the material in half and punch a couple of holes where you would like them to be--not too near to the fold or the holes may shear through when you add the fastener.

Now stick cards to both ends of the inside of the material at an equal distances from the fold

fold over to test it is all ok-if it isn't start again as the things are easier to put right now then when you have done a lot of work on the book

Take a spare playing card from the pack and draw around it on different kinds of paper then cut out the shapes you will need four pieces for each 2 cards that you have joined together

When you have done that you have four pages of your little card book already to decorate as you wish

I have made one with 8 pages full of doodles and the next one I am going to do for Vic's birthday with photos of him from when he was a child to now
