Opening Square

Chose your card blank

Cut out 2 squares in light weight card-one dark and one light. Make them small enough to fit on the front of your card blank.

Trim the darker square so that it is slightly smaller than the lighter one.

Measure the light coloured square and find the centre of it. Draw lines that pass through this centre point as in the picture.

Cut along the lines but leave space at the edge of the square so it stays as one piece

Now with the dark side upwards on the dark square add double sided tape or adhesive around the outside.

Carefully stick this onto your light square.

Add more tape or adhesive to stick the whole lot onto the front of your card blank.

Open up the points to reveal the dark card underneath. You can fold them back  and leave them straight or curl them as I have done.

Now add any decoration you wish to finish off the card.
