Tunnel Book Card

It is difficult to photograph or scan this card to show the effect properly it looks much better in real life

This card isn't too easy to make but looks nice in the end.

You will need sheets of card and bits and bobs to decorate. A small picture, flower or photograph for the middle

Decide what size of card you are going to make and cut out twice the width plus enough for the book spine

Measure and fold as in the picture-like an book. The spine size will depend on the number of pages you want to make.

Now cut a shape in the front of the card-I chose a circle but it should work with any shape and may even be easier with a square

Cut pages to fit inside the book. You can use any sort of card that you like and make them all different if you want to. Draw the shape onto the pages using the front of the card as a template.

You need to cut inside each of these shapes taking  less and less of the shape for each page so you end up with just a small shape in the middle of the last page with room to see your small picture-as in my card. If you find different size objects to draw around inside the original shape it does make life easier and you can have different shapes for some pages if you wish

Turn the pages over so that you can't see the pencil marks-I didn't and wished that I had.

Decorate all the openings with different things-lace -ribbon-beads-what ever you like

Stick the small picture in position on the inside back of the book

Now use raised sticky squares, silicone, raised sticky  strips or whatever medium you use for decoupage, so that you can stick the pages in place.

Trim off any pages that may overlap the outside of the book then stick the book front to the pages all the way around.

You could use that as a card and write on the back or use it as I did and stick it onto another card blank so that you can have a stand-up card.

I hope you can understand the tutorial if not please ask by emailing me from the home page or if you are in the PAPERCHASE group ask on the message board.

Have fun
